Released in June 2019, the Blackwing Volumes 10 limited edition Blackwing pencil is a tribute to Nellie Bly and investigative journalists everywhere who keep citizens informed and give them a voice. The Volume 10 takes its namesake from the 10 days Miss Bly spent investigating a story that has impacted countless lives.
The pencil has a matte-gray "newsprint" finish, dark gray imprint, silver ferrule, dark gray eraser, and extra-firm graphite.

Ten Days In a Mad-House In 1887, journalist Nellie Bly went undercover to investigate the conditions at New York's Blackwell's Island Asylum. The resulting story, "Ten Days In a Mad-House," was published later that year as a series of articles for the New York World. The piece gives gives a terrifying look into the conditions found on the island, and the ignorance surrounding the treatment of its patients.
